The new engine generation "Powerliner", together with the improved drivetrain, offers higher efficiency with increased output – perfectly tuned for long-haul transport. The engine OM 471, with increased torque at low engine speeds, together with the transmission G 291 and a long rear axle ratio, supports the downspeeding strategy – for a 4 %10 lower fuel consumption. In addition, drivers benefit from optimized driving dynamics, lower manoeuvring speeds, increased engine braking power and greater comfort due to a reduced noise level.
OM 470
The three power ratings of the OM 470 reliably cover its areas of application and provide greater flexibility. An adapted torque characteristic supports a harmonious delivery of power. Thus the OM 470 stands for low weight, high efficiency and reliable performance.
OM 471
The engine for strong performance and high efficiency in long-haul or heavy construction transport. Four new power ratings expand the line-up for demanding applications – with more power available earlier. An optimized power and torque curve ensures confident propulsion — even at low engine speeds. The consistent design of the engine characteristic for Downspeeding is a key factor in reducing fuel consumption and lowering noise levels. The powerful engine brake also assists with deceleration, can relieve the service brake and reduce maintenance costs.

Longer rear axle ratios, in combination with the Downspeeding strategy, support lower engine speeds at cruising speed. This can reduce fuel consumption and noise levels and provides greater comfort on long distances. For typical long-haul use, the long rear axle ratio i = 2.278 is therefore recommended in combination with OM 471 and G 291. The proven, wide-ranging axle portfolio enables the right configuration for almost every application profile – efficient, durable and smooth-running. Simple maintenance and long oil-change intervals also support high cost-effectiveness in daily operation.
More display, clearer overview.
The new secondary display in Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 supplements the central main display and ensures the best possible overall view. You can control functions such as heating, air conditioning, navigation, telephony and lighting via the touchscreen or the multifunction steering wheel – just like the integrated radio infotainment system.
Route planning: streamlined.
An efficient and highly automated driving experience: during route guidance, the integrated truck navigation system is connected to Predictive Powertrain Control’s (PPC) anticipatory powertrain control, taking height and weight limits into account.

Comfort meets efficiency: Predictive Powertrain Control is continuously supplied with information about the route by the navigation system. At the touch of a button on the steering wheel, the system knows where you want to go. It can look ahead and release the throttle, accelerate and select the optimum gear in conjunction with PowerShift Advanced.
If you work hard, you should sleep softly.
A good bed is the best sleeping aid. And these facts are sure to get you a good night’s sleep: the bunk in the Actros is 750 mm wide, up to 2,200 mm long and has a fully fledged slatted frame – with an innerspring, 215 mm thick, mattress as standard. With this level of comfort in the Actros, it’s quite right to say “good night”.

The warranty for countless scenarios.
In addition to the 12-month warranty with unlimited mileage for the complete vehicle, the extended Mercedes‑Benz Trucks warranty extends to 36 months for parts of the drivetrain or parts groups in the engine, manual transmission, automatic transmission, transfer case, driven front and rear axle, shaft train and retarder, up to a maximum of 250,000 km or 450,000 km, depending on the type of use. Our trucks come with a Basic Warranty period of 24-month unlimited mileage for the complete vehicle; the drivetrain is covered for 48-months, or a maximum of 800,000 kilometres, inclusions and exclusions apply.9
